usb connectors

USB (Universal Serial Bus) is the "plug & Play" interconnection standard used for both PC's and Macs.
The so-called "A" connector must connect to the Computer, or another USB Hub. The "B" Connector is for the peripheral. The B connector can be one of an assortment of types, either the Standard B connector, or any number of small form factor connectors for small devices.
USB cables can be extended with a basic A-male to A-female cables to arrive at total lengths up to fifteen feet. Longer Extensions require "active" signal boosting, or other extension solutions like CAT5 cable conversion.
